Players from FC Cincinnati and D.C. United warmed up in the rain Sept. 5, 2026, before their game at TQL Stadium was postponed. An MLS match between visiting D.C. United and FC Cincinnati was postponed on Saturday night because of inclement weather.
After a lightning delay of more than 2 hours and 45 minutes, the match was called off, with the following message flashed on the scoreboard.
"Tonight's match has been postponed due to pitch conditions and resulting player safety concerns created by inclement weather in the Cincinnati area. The match will be played at a later date."
Both teams are scheduled to play twice next week-on Wednesday and Saturday night.
This was to be the first of two matches between the clubs this season. They are also scheduled to play on Oct. 24 in Washington.
